Happy Sunday, Everyone!
This Past Week...
You may have noticed I switched up the template theme to something more mobile-friendly, ensuring you can enjoy all the content on the go. I also dove into GraphicAudio's adaptation of Hell's Half Acre: Cold-Blooded by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone. Plus, I highlighted The Trouble at PeÅ„a Blanca in this week’s Friday 56.
Coming Up Next Week…
Get ready for some more great reads! I’ll review The Trailsman: Valley of Death by Jon Sharpe this Wednesday, and on The Friday 56, I’ll feature Colton Gray, Deputy U.S. Marshal by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone.

New to the Bookshelf...
I recently picked up the rerelease of Cold Dead Cash and I'm Here to Kill You by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone. This I'm Here to Kill You edition is a 2-in-1 collection featuring Brutal Night of the Mountain Man and Venom of the Mountain Man.
While thrift store hunting, I stumbled upon some well-loved paperbacks: Conagher by Louis L'Amour (Bantam, 1969), Bitter Sage by Frank Gruber (Signet, 1954), and Wagons East! by Lewis B. Patten (Signet, 1964). To top it off, I found a free, much-read copy of Centennial by James A. Michener (Random House, 1974; cover art, 1978) at the library. Talk about a lucky score!
Now, let’s talk about my Hamilton Book order! You won’t believe it—while tracking my shipment for delivery this coming Tuesday, the books arrived yesterday morning! It’s a bit surprising since my mail usually comes in the afternoon. So, what’s in the box? I received two hardcovers: Old Cowboys Never Die and Nice Guys Finish Dead by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone, along with paperbacks: The Wrong Side of the Law: A Ralph Compton Western by Robert J. Randisi, The Sagebrush Trail: A Ralph Compton Western by Robert J. Randisi, Hanging Fire by Eric Red, A Colorado Christmas by William J. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone, Hell's Half Acre: The Butcher of Baxter Pass by William J. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone, and Savage Sunday by William J. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone.
New on My Kindle...
And speaking of great reads, I’ve been filling my Kindle with some fantastic titles: Blood Money and Other Stories by Elmore Leonard, Last Stand at Saber River by Elmore Leonard, King Colt by Luke Short, and The Second Coming of Lucas Brokaw by Matt Braun. Can you believe that last one was free on Kindle this past Friday?
How was your week? What exciting books are you reading? Let’s chat about your latest reads!

First time here! I don't read Westerns, but given this list - seems to be your jam. Any recommendations for a new reader? I read a lot of young adult, fantasy, and romance.
ReplyDeleteThe Berrybender Narratives by Larry McMurtry, which includes Sin Killer, The Wandering Hill, By Sorrow's River, and Folly and Glory, are excellent reads. Other readers often recommend McMurtry's Lonesome Dove, a great book, though it may be a bit heavy for beginners.
DeleteI also recommend Six-Horse Hitch by Janice Holt Giles, published in 1969. It's a fantastic Western, although it can be hard to find; if you come across a copy, I suggest you get it. Lastly, any book by Zane Grey or Louis L'Amour is worth considering.
