Happy Sunday, Everyone!
I hope each of you is enjoying a fantastic Memorial Weekend! After a whirlwind of a week, I’m finally taking some time to relax and recharge.
This Past Week...
Have you noticed the fresh header on the blog? No worries—this is the last change! Exciting news: the blog now has its very own Facebook page! For now, I’ll also be using my other blog’s Twitter and Goodreads accounts since managing all these social media platforms is a bit of a juggling act for me.
This past week, I reviewed Colton Gray, Deputy U.S. Marshal, on Wednesday, and I featured Al Cody’s The Outcasts for Friday 56.
Coming Up Next Week…
If all goes according to plan, you can look forward to my review of The Outcasts this Wednesday! I’ll be sharing a snippet from Ray Hogan’s The Man Who Killed the Marshal for next week’s Friday 56.
Bookmarked...
I’m feeling a bit uncertain about my next read for the blog. The Man Who Killed the Marshal is a contender, but I’m not fully committed to it yet. I’m currently on page 36 of the non-fiction gem Around the House by Henry & Janice Holt Giles. I’ll be savoring it alongside my other reads, and I’m torn about whether to share my thoughts here or on my other blog. While it’s not strictly a Wild West read, Janice Holt Giles has penned some incredible fictional epics about the frontier, including one of my all-time favorites, Six-Horse Hitch. If you’re interested in a review, just let me know!
New to the Bookshelf...
This past week was low-key for book shopping—no wild adventures in thrift stores or bookshops. I did manage to swing by the local Salvation Army on Monday, where I snagged a well-read paperback copy of Elmer Kelton’s Wagontongue. While I usually stick to Western titles here, I can't resist mentioning that I also found three Tony Hillerman paperbacks: Dance Hall of the Dead, Skinwalkers, and The Ghostway. They might not feature Western settings, but they often get lumped in that category. I probably won’t review them here, but stay tuned for thoughts on my other blog!
New on My Kindle...
Exciting reads are on my Kindle too! I recently added The Romantics by Peter Brandvold, Escape from Five Shadows by Elmore Leonard, Black Gold by Matt Braun, and Dakota Kill by Peter Brandvold.
Happy reading, everyone! I can’t wait to hear what you’ve been reading!
